Focused ultrasound reaches the depth a facelift addresses, without an incision and with no scheduled recovery time. Every plan starts with the doctor's assessment.

High-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) passes through the surface of the skin and deposits energy at set depths, including the SMAS layer that surgeons address in a facelift. The heat prompts the tissue to contract and, over the following weeks, to build new collagen.

Because the energy is focused rather than applied at the surface, the skin you can see is not injured — which is why there is no wound to heal afterwards.

We run HIFU at two tiers. Ultraformer MPT is the full-depth tier and the doctor performs it. Mini HIFU is a lighter protocol, performed by a therapist under the doctor's direction. They are not the same treatment in two sizes: the protocol, the depth and the number of shots delivered are different.

Results build gradually. Most of the change appears over roughly two to three months as new collagen forms, rather than on the day of treatment.

  • MPT stands for Micro Pulsed Technology. The manufacturer specifies up to 24× more micro-pulses than earlier-generation HIFU delivery.
  • Treatment depth is selected by cartridge, so different areas of the face can be treated at different depths in one session.
  • Energy is delivered as a counted number of shots. Every area we treat has a fixed count — 800 shots for a full face on Ultraformer MPT, 400 for the neck, 1,200 for the two together.
  • You may feel brief warmth or a prickling sensation as each line of energy is delivered. Most people describe it as tolerable; it is not a comfortable treatment.
  • Mild redness or tenderness can last a few hours. Some people notice slight swelling for a day or two.
  • Shot count is the unit this treatment is measured in, and a full face is not a fixed quantity — the same two words can mean 300 shots at one clinic and 800 at another. Ours are published above for both tiers, so you know what a session here consists of before you sit down.
  • The Mini HIFU tier is lighter by design: fewer shots, and settings intended for maintenance rather than full-depth work. It is not a smaller version of the same result, and we will tell you which tier your skin actually calls for.
  • This is a tightening treatment, not a substitute for surgery. If your concern is significant skin excess, we will tell you that this is unlikely to be enough.
  • Not suitable during pregnancy, or over areas with active infection, or where certain implants or devices are present — we screen for this at consultation.

Most HIFU quotes never tell you how many shots you are getting. Ours are printed, for every tier:

  • Doctor-performed · Ultraformer MPT — Full face 800 shots|Neck 400|Face & neck 1,200
  • Therapist-performed (doctor-directed) · Mini HIFU — Face 500|Eyes 300|Neck 500|Face, eyes & neck 1,300
  • Before you compare quotes elsewhere, ask for this number — "full face" can mean 300 shots or 800.

A specific number, and it is on this page. On the doctor-performed Ultraformer MPT tier: 800 shots for a full face, 400 for the neck, 1,200 for face and neck together. On the therapist-performed Mini HIFU tier: 500 for the face, 300 for the eyes, 1,300 for all three areas together.

We publish it because shot count is what a HIFU session is made of, and a session described in words alone leaves its most important quantity unstated. These are our numbers, and they are the same in the treatment room as they are on this page.

Some people notice a mild tightening in the first days, but this is not the main effect. The collagen response builds over roughly two to three months, and that is when the change is usually most visible.

Your consultation will determine this. Skin type, medical history, medications and the changes you would like to see all affect which treatment is appropriate, and whether any treatment is suitable at all.

If a treatment isn't suitable for you, you'll be informed.

Every plan is assessed by our doctor. Treatments that require a doctor are performed by the doctor; treatments that may be delegated are performed by trained therapists under the doctor's direction. We will tell you which applies before you book.

Your first visit includes a consultation where the doctor examines your skin and determines if this treatment is suitable for you before proceeding with any procedures. You don’t need to book the consultation separately.

If you prefer to come in solely for an assessment, our consultation charge is $80. However, if you decide to proceed with treatment on the same day, this fee will be waived.

The doctor will examine your skin, take your medical history and give you a detailed account of your skin condition, which may differ from your initial expectations.

You leave with a written plan and the associated costs. If a treatment isn’t suitable for you, you’ll be informed of that instead.

There’s no same-day price or deadline attached to the plan. Prices don’t change based on when you decide.

The plan is yours to keep. If you’d like more time to consider or make comparisons, that’s perfectly fine. We respect every customer’s decisions.
