Monopolar Radiofrequency (10 Therma)

Monopolar radiofrequency heats a volume of tissue in the dermis rather than a single point. Collagen fibres respond to controlled heat by contracting, and fibroblasts are prompted to lay down new collagen over the following months.

The handpiece cools the surface at the same time as it delivers energy, so the deeper layer reaches treatment temperature while the outer skin stays comfortable.

Radiofrequency is not colour-selective, which means it can be used across a wider range of skin tones than treatments that target pigment.

The face, the eye area and the neck are each treated as their own area, with their own count of shots. A combined session is the three added together rather than the same energy spread thinner.

• Monopolar delivery passes energy between the treatment tip and a return electrode placed on the body. That circuit is what heats a volume of the dermis rather than only the surface, and it is paired with cooling at the tip so the outer skin stays below treatment temperature.
• Energy is counted in shots. Each area has a fixed number: 300 shots for the face, 300 for the eye area, 300 for the neck, and 900 when all three are treated in one session.

• Topical numbing cream is applied first, which adds waiting time to your appointment beyond the treatment itself.
• You will feel repeated waves of deep heat. It is a strong sensation and we adjust settings to what you can tolerate.
• Redness is common immediately afterwards and usually settles within a few hours.
• Shot count is the unit this treatment is planned in, and ours is published above.
• Like other collagen treatments, the visible change is gradual rather than immediate.

Radiofrequency heats a volume of tissue more diffusely; focused ultrasound deposits energy at specific depths in narrow columns. They address firmness by different routes, and which one suits you depends on your skin and what you want to change.

Both are counted in shots, which makes them look comparable on paper. They are not — a shot on one device does not do the work of a shot on the other, so compare shot counts within a treatment rather than across the two.

If you prefer to come in solely for an assessment, our consultation charge is $80. However, if you decide to proceed with treatment on the same day, this fee will be waived.

The doctor will examine your skin, take your medical history and give you a detailed account of your skin condition, which may differ from your initial expectations.

You leave with a written plan and the associated costs. If a treatment isn’t suitable for you, you’ll be informed of that instead.

There’s no same-day price or deadline attached to the plan. Prices don’t change based on when you decide.
